Long Term Ombudsman Services
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program assists, advocates, empowers, and educates residents on their rights, issues related to dignity, poor quality of care, dietary concerns, illegal and improper transfers or discharges of residents and inappropriate use of chemical or physical restraints.
Ombudsman representatives investigate and attempt to resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, individual residents in long-term care facilities. These facilities include nursing homes, residential care facilities for the elderly, adult residential facilities, and intermediate care facilities.
The Agency on Aging Area 4 is designated as the local entity representing the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman for Planning and Service Area for Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba Counties.
