Advocate for Elders Rights as a Volunteer Ombudsman
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program investigates elder abuse complaints in long-term care facilities and in residential care facilities for the elderly in the counties of Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.
The primary responsibility of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman program is to investigate and endeavor to resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, individual residents in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, residential care facilities for the elderly, and assisted living facilities.
Volunteers are an integral part of this program.
The success of this program is due, in large part, to our compassionate and dedicated roster of trained volunteers who support program staff in investigating and addressing complaints.The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman are responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising the volunteer Ombudsman representatives. Volunteers must be available to work Monday through Friday between 8:30am – 4:30pm.
