Report Elder Abuse

Most cases of elder abuse go undetected. Don’t assume that someone has already reported a suspicious situation. You do not need to prove that abuse is occurring; it is up to the professionals to investigate the suspicions.

Report your concerns. The agency receiving the report will just ask what you observed, who was involved, and who they can contact to learn more. 

To report suspected abuse in your community, contact your local Adult Protective Services (APS) agency:

To report suspected abuse in a nursing home or long-term care facility in Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, or Yuba counties, contact Agency on Aging Area 4's Long-Term Care Ombudsman program:
