Lead Fun, Weekly Bingocize Classes At Senior Facilities

Volunteer to provide learning opportunities for older adults in community settings throughout the Greater Sacramento region. We will train you to lead Bingocize, an evidence-based fall prevention class that integrates the activity of bingo with information and exercises at each session to promote safety and individual strength and balance via class participation. 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Bingocize Instructor

TIME COMMITMENT: Weekly commitment for a minimum of 6 months  

EXPECTATIONS:   

  • Commit to co-leading two (2) 1-hour in-person Bingocize class sessions each week for 6 months
  • Good communication skills 
  • Complete the 2-hour, online Bingocize training and show proof of completion certificate 
  • Commute to and from location  
  • Take class supplies to and from the class sessions 
  • Collect paperwork, such as sign-in sheets and bingo winner information from Site Coordinator and deliver it to Health Promotion Instructor 
  • Set-up laptop and link to Zoom session to connect with Co-leader who conducts the exercise portion of the class with the help from the Site Coordinator  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete Volunteer Orientation
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with issues related to aging
  • Upbeat and friendly manner
  • Interest in supporting elder health
